Life in the food lane...Getting started with The Blog

Well hello there,

The hardest part about starting a blog, is starting the blog.

How do I make it funny, relevant, interesting for you to read it. Well bear with me reader because whilst this may take a few attempts I promise you a glimpse into the life of a small business owner, a food producer, a waitress, an events organiser, a driver,a delivery person, an employer, a mentor, an accounts clerk. quality controller, which I think you will enjoy and a lot of people have been encouraging me to do this for a long time, they can't all be wrong...can they?.

Thankfully the days when I would  have also added kitchen porter to that list are gone, after 15 years in the catering business, I have finally earned my right NEVER to wash another dish professionally.

You might also note that the other thing I don't do is cook.I hate cooking, but as they as "why have a dog and wag yourself", so my better half, does all the cooking with the guys in the kitchen. I'm not sure if I should mention that as a matter of public record, but there is so much more to running a food business than just being able to cook, and if we are going to be friends I need to be honest.

It is the great irony of my life that whilst I have always wanted to express my inner creative self it has found its outlet through food .

My business The Delicious Food Co  is all about me.... narcissism at its best....

We make & deliver 100's of mini salad pots/ preservative free & spelt sandwiches to shops around Dublin every day. It's a tough business, but some body's gotta do it.

In this blog you probably won't ever find a recipe...or a picture of food unless its really beautiful.
I will post funny things I see along the way.

I'll explain about shelf wars where us small producers, smile & banter, whilst filling our respective shelves in the early morning, whilst quietly re-positioning the each others stock as soon as they are gone. I'll be chatting about social media, from the view point of somebody who would still prefer to send a message by pigeon. There will be occasional reference to my kids, but as the actress says about a good old nude scene in a movie, I'll only do it the story really needs it.

Stick with me this could be fun.
